schafhof.next means to document and archive past exhibitions which were shown at the schafhof european art forum in Freising, Germany. Exhibitions are captured during their runtime and afterwards revisited in collaboration with the respective artists to remake them in a virtual space. The focus in this process lies less in creating the most accurate representation and more in fulfilling the artists’ visions in a virtual world - sometimes even beyond what is physically possible.

Visitors can then experience and freely navigate those past exhibitions with a virtual-reality-headset in an immersive environment. This way exhibitions are made accessible even past their runtime.
