Social slime reveals the invisible structures behind social media that us humans are blind to. Much like imaginations where the internet is depicted as a simulation, social media users are represented as slime organisms living in a computer graphics driven simulation. They are created from users’ social media data which is provided by the user entering their Instagram-suername and turned into collectively intelligent slime molds.

In their simulation they live, interact and die based on received social attention or ‘likes’. Those are provided and manipulated by users via tangible hearts that are placed in the simulation-projection. It is up to the user to care for their and others slime mold organism and to make a choice between cooperating with other accounts / species or to self-isolate inside a bubble.
